In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate from Muzaffarnagar parliamentary seat, Sanjeev Kumar Balyan had secured a massive lead of 62635 votes over his nearest BSP rival and then sitting MP Kadir Rana in Charthawal assembly segment.
